Vendors Supporting Trial Equipment

Postby Rob_Rosenberg » Mon Sep 01, 2003 6:24 pm

As someone who has been in trenches more times than I care to recall, one of my struggles has always been dealing with equipment vendors. I would love to hear how others have dealt with Trial Equipment vendors to help reduce common communication issues that can arise when you get onsite. For example, do you keep a list of required equipment specs that you prepare for outside vendors? Do you prefer to use one or two vendors and have them travel to your trial site. I'm interested in hearing how people around the country deal with this issue. Also, I am inclined to have a contact list of certified equipment vendors here at the LSVA site.

Sincerely,

Rob,

I have all of my own equipment, I choose not to say I am a control freak, but a quality freak! There are so many variables, it can get complicated. I think a list would be a good idea in the event something is needed you are not wasting time sorting through unqualified providers.

Rob,

We are a trial equipment vendor, specifically renting out trial presentation equipment. To blow our own horn, we have specialized in AV rentals for the litigation industry for years. We work with several trial consulting firms within the Southern California area, and are willing to work with more firms out-of-state, if need be.

What has helped me eliminate any misunderstandings, especially upon arrival, are lengthy discussions with the consultant (and attorney, if possible) to determine exactly what is needed and a job-walk (or a walk-through of the courtroom).

Indeed, I am curious as to exactly what kind of issues you run into with other vendors. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.
